How the SOI PTO Raises Money
The goal of the SOI PTO is to provide low-cost and free events for students and families, while also supporting other SOI activities and our teachers. In order to provide these events and services, we need to raise money for the PTO. We do not rely on sales of candy, candles, gifts, or other traditional fundraisers that place the burden largely on parents to sell. Rather, we organize several fundraising events throughout the year to fund the PTO for the following year. We also recognize that we have increasing needs as 75 students will continue to be added each year for the next 6 years. This requires an ever-increasing budget for the same number of activities and events. Our goal is to rely on fundraising events, donations, and community partnerships rather than student sales.
The SOI PTO believes in full accounting transparency with our families and membership. Accounting records are audited by third-parties and are always open and available for review by our membership at any time. Feel free to stop by any of the monthly PTO General Membership Meetings to ask any questions or raise any concerns.
How Funds are Utilized
The SOI PTO organizes numerous low-cost or free actvities for our students and families throughout the year, including pool parties, end-of-the-year parties, fall festivals, bowling parties, movies, and more. We also help to fund the principal's discretionary account, which is used to provide school transportation to field trips and other student activities requiring outside funding. In addition, we encourage teachers and staff to request funding for equipment and supplies from us.
The W-E SOI PTO is a nonprofit organization that exists for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Donations of any size will help us continue to provide great activities and events for our students, families, and teachers. We appreciate your continued support!
