SOI PTO UPDATE
12/11/2019

President’s Update:
This Friday is Cookies, Cocoa, and Cards at SOI from 6-8pm. Please join us for some holiday cheer as we eat cookies, drink cocoa, and make some holiday cards for our local nursing home community.

Holiday Parties for the Elementary School are Friday Dec 20th. If you are interested in signing up, please contact Melissa Solema the chairperson of our Volunteer Committee melissa@solema.net, as the Signup Genius will be sent to that committee before the general public.

How has your experience been with Marcos this year? I have had some feedback from parents and would like more if you have it (positive/negative). You can message me at president@wesoipto.org. On Pizza nights, please do your best to order online to maximize the profit earned by SOI.

The WE Levy Committee is in need of funding for signs and pamphlets and other items required to run a successful levy campaign. They are putting together various fundraisers over the next few months and HELP IS NEEDED. There is a Take Out Pasta Dinner Night next Wednesday 12/18. Dinners are $10 and include Pasta, Marinara Sauce, Meatball, Salad and a Roll. The pickup location is between 5:00-7:00 at Willoughby Hills Methodist Church located at 34201 Eddy Rd, Willoughby. Tickets for this event MUST be purchased in advance at www.supportweschools.org. (Last day for purchase is Monday 12/16).

The WE Levy Committee will be meeting at this Monday 12/16 South High School at 7pm Monday. They can use your help! Please visit www.supportweschools.org to sign up for a committee or to get more information.

Our next meeting is Wednesday January 8th at 6:30pm. We are hoping to have some of the 8th graders who went to Columbus come to discuss the Youth in Government program and their experience at the Statehouse.

Vice President’s Update:

Elementary:

Middle School:
The 8th grade trip went well. We should hopefully have some 8th graders available to talk about their experience at the next week- fingers crossed!

The only other thing I have for middle school is the 7th grade art to go. I have to double check but I think everyone approved the request.

Principal’s Update:
Seasons Greetings from SOI! The students and staff are looking forward to break, but here are a few notes to wrap up 2019.
Our stocking drive was a HUGE success with the collection of 300 stockings for underprivileged children! The Cleveland Police, and of course Santa, will be visiting SOI on Friday morning to collect the stockings and have a sing along!
Technology purchases from the Fun Run are finally arriving. Teachers are taking the Ozobots and Spheros home over the break to work with them and learn a bit more about them. The new cameras are in and being imaged (Mevo, Go Pro, Theta V)! We are still waiting on our VR Goggles (back ordered) and hope they are here in January!
Last day of school for 2019 is December 20th. First day for 2020 is January 6th!
